Emma EsSER
Born in Luxembourg, with a Belgian father and a Spanish mother, I have had the unique privilege of a multi-lingual upbringing.
As a visual journalist, my work is to create compelling visual content to accompany news stories and articles. For it, I conceptualise projects and I combine infographics, maps, photography, illustration and graphics to enhance storytelling and engage audiences through visually captivating narratives.
Here is part of my daily work. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did carrying it out

Infographics
One of the main tasks in the editorial team is the creation of infographics for a large variety of topics. Their aim is to present complex information in a concise and visually engaging manner. I have worked with different departments for breaking news but also for more extensive news pieces.
Data Visualisation
As a visual journalist and designer, I collaborate a lot with the data department to merge skills and create special ways to portray the data. I usually use the principles of design, sorting out the information by category, combining visual similarities, continuity and hierarchy.
Editorial Illustrations
Illustrations are carried out to highlight specific topics and catch readers attention. They usually set the mood, tone and overall context of a piece, helping to communicate the messages.
Interactive Formats
Interactive formats are special articles that are used to engage audiences. They combine multimedia elements, data visualisation and many more and they are executed by a multidisciplinary team.
